International Ayurveda Day

Today is International Ayurveda Day, a wonderful opportunity to embrace a more "Ayurvedic" lifestyle! 😇✨ Established by the Indian government, this day promotes a highly beneficial and cost-effective health system that is gaining recognition worldwide. With growing awareness, I envision a future where Ayurveda is as beloved and respected as yoga, a practice rooted in the same tradition. 🧘‍♀️🌍

International Ayurveda Day is celebrated on the autumn equinox, a day when nature finds harmony, with day and night in perfect balance. 🌞🌜 This moment also symbolises our position halfway between the summer and winter solstices. Balance is the essence of Ayurveda; it guides us in harmonising our *doshas*, finding equilibrium between rest and activity, integrating leisure with work, and cultivating a balanced diet with the right proportions of foods. 🍏⚖️

For this occasion,  Dr Tony Nader, MD, PhD, leader of the Transcendental Meditation and Maharishi Ayurveda organisations, has recorded a four-minute video message to the world. In it, he thanks the Government of India for establishing the permanent date, describes Ayurveda as a complete science of life whose insights modern research is now confirming area by area, and invites people everywhere to receive this gift and bring it into their daily lives. It is a dignified and beautiful message, which you can watch at:
